About

Our Chapter

ASTA-OK (American String Teachers Association Oklahoma Chapter) is the only string-centric professional organization in Oklahoma. The far-flung geographic locations of our string programs pose a challenge to effective communication and development of a true string community. ASTA-OK is the central 'meeting place' for our string teachers and players. We sponsor several string events each year that both support and broaden the work being done in public schools and private studios across the state.

Through the ASTA-OK website, teachers, performers, and students have access to all the string related events going on in Oklahoma. In addition, this site encourages communication between string players, thus bolstering our community. Finally, the website will provide informative articles, through both our own newsletter and through direct access to the national ASTA site.
